Commercial Precision Optical Imaging Support & Positioning System STA-01-350 MK2-Dual Arm
Couldn't load pickup availability
The STA 01-350 MK2-Dual Arm Precision Optical Imaging Support Positioning System was developed in collaboration with Google for inspection camera arrays used in quality inspection and assurance applications.
The system includes two complete vertical carriages, each supporting a horizontal arm. Four camera head mount plates are supplied, allowing up to two cameras per arm and four cameras in total. Each mount plate can be rotated 360 degrees around the horizontal arm and locked in position.
The upper horizontal arm is connected to the internal counterweight balancing system. The lower horizontal arm operates independently and is not counterbalanced.
Two STA 01-350MK2-TS user-positionable, clamp-on travel stops with spring-type shock absorbers are included. One stop is installed below each arm to establish its lower travel limit and help prevent collisions between the arms.
The system provides rapid vertical and horizontal camera positioning to accommodate different camera array configurations and lens focal lengths. Each vertical carriage provides up-and-down movement, while each horizontal carriage allows left-and-right extension of its arm. Tape scales on the horizontal arms and vertical column support precise, repeatable positioning.
The center column is 240 cm / 94.4 in. high. Horizontal arm widths are specified below.
The base is preconfigured to accept the optional STA-01-350LW-10 Leg Weight Set for added stability. This concealed, all-steel “bolt-under” set includes three individual weights, each weighing 10 kg / 22 lb. One weight bolts beneath each base leg, providing a total of 30 kg / 66 lb of additional base weight.
Features
- User-positioned vertical carriage with precision smooth-motion ball bearings and secure axis lock with one user brake knob
- User-positioned horizontal arm/bar carriage with precision smooth-motion ball bearings and secure axis lock with two user brake knobs
- Precision manufactured with attention to detail using CNC machinery.
- Low center-of-gravity base with foot-operated brake plungers to quickly secure the base and dampen vibrations
- Premium dual-stage bearing casters provide easy movement around the studio. The dual-stage foot brake stops both the wheel from rotating and the caster housing from swivelling to prevent unwanted movement.
- Some assembly is required (please review the setup and use manual)
- Includes essential tools required to complete assembly
- A unique Studio Titan feature not found on other studio systems is the vertical and horizontal column graduated tape scales, providing a reference point for logging and quickly recreating previous setups
STA-01-350 MK2-Dual Arm Setup & Use Manual
Studio Titan reserves the right to make product changes and improvements as required. As a result, the product supplied may not be exactly as pictured or specified.
Before installation and use of an optional horizontal arm, please read the STA_01-350HB_Horizontal_Arm_Bar_ manual. When using an optional horizontal arm, load reduction and additional weights/sandbags on the legs may be required to prevent instability or tip-over.
Q: What is our innovation and why is it better?
A: Smooth ball bearing movements.
The horizontal arm and vertical carriage glide effortlessly on 24 calibrated metal ball bearings. Smooth ball bearing movements are beneficial when shooting with high-resolution cameras and camera backs. Other systems that don’t use ball bearings often have too much play and do not provide smooth movements.
Q: I already have a tripod. Do I need a Studio Titan imaging and positioning system?
A: In today’s dynamic studio environment, a top-notch imaging system is a game-changer. It offers rock-solid support for cameras of all formats and enables fast, precise camera positioning that outshines traditional tripods. Move your camera from floor to ceiling in seconds, traverse the entire studio in minutes, or recreate the exact perspective you captured weeks ago. When it comes to speed, ease, and precision, nothing beats a modern imaging system.

Due to this product’s large size and specific packaging and handling requirements, it is sold as non-returnable.
Packaging with Recyclable Materials
Studio Titan respects the environment. When selecting packaging materials, Studio Titan prefers using recyclable materials to reduce environmental impact. The column box blue outer plastic is polypropylene (PP), resin identification code 5, which is recyclable. Product boxes and protection edges are corrugated cardboard, recyclable through depots, municipal curb-side programs, and private recyclers. Internal securing foam blocks are PE (polyethylene foam) and are 100% recyclable. Plastic bags are LDPE (low-density polyethylene), identification code 4 (check local acceptance). Yellow plastic strapping is PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and is fully recyclable.
Recycled Materials Used Inside the Products
Studio Titan respects the environment. When manufacturing products, Studio Titan prefers using raw materials mixed with recycled materials to reduce environmental impact. For aluminum components (vertical column, horizontal column, legs, die-cast carriages, base, cap, and head-mount plates), the typical ratio is 70% recycled to 30% raw aluminum. This globally adopted ratio provides good strength and finish. For steel components (circular or square columns, hardware, casters, gears, and counterweight), we have confirmed the steel includes recycled materials combined with raw materials. We are not able to provide the exact percentage, as each product uses a different ratio based on its end use.
Prop. 65 Warning Label Explanation

Packaging
Packaging with Recyclable Materials: Studio Titan respects the environment. When selecting packaging materials, Studio Titan prefers using materials that are recyclable to reduce the environmental impact of its packaging. The column box blue outer plastic material is Polypropylene, abbreviated as PP, is a recyclable thermoplastic polymer widely used in many different products. PP is rugged. PP's resin identification code is 5, and it is recyclable. Product boxes and protection edges are made using corrugated cardboard which can be recycled at depots, in municipal curbside collection programs and through private recyclers. Internal securing foam blocks are made of PE (Polyethylene Foam) – Recyclable. Polyethylene foam products are 100% recyclable. Plastic bags are made of LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) – Recyclable plastic (check Local Authority) LDPE can be recycled. However, check with your Local Authority to ensure it is recycled in your area. This is described as a hard flexible plastic. LDPE’s identification code is 4 and it is recyclable. Yellow plastic strapping is made of PET (Polyethylen-terephthalat) – Recyclable. It is fully recyclable and commonly used in logistics.
Recycled Materials used inside the products: Studio Titan respects the environment. When manufacturing products, Studio Titan prefers using raw materials that are mixed with recycled materials to reduce the environmental impact of the products. For the Aluminum components: Vertical column, Horizontal column, Legs, Die cast carriages, base, cap and head-mount plates. The typical percentage of recycled aluminum metal to raw aluminum metal is 70% recycled to 30% raw. This globally adopted ratio provides good strength and finish. For the Steel components like: circular or square columns, hardware, casters, gears and counterweight. We have confirmed that the steel is made up of recycled materials combined with raw materials. We are not able to provide the actual percentage of recycled to raw on these components. Each product uses a different ratio based on its particular end use.
